With the changing seasons, our body temperature fluctuates a lot and this causes us to fall ill sometimes. Especially when the winters or monsoon arises and the temperature outside reduces a lot, the body sometimes finds it difficult to adjust to the temperature outside and if we do not have all that a strong immunity, then it gives in and we end up falling sick. One of the most common types of illness that people experience is cough, throat infection, cold and flu. It usually starts off with an irritation in the throat and then develops into worse.
This is one of the major reasons that people say we should make our immunity stronger. There are various ways to actually do that. One of the major ones is by eating the right kind of food and exercising. When you exercise, your body become stronger inside out. Having the right kind of food and clean food also does the same. Make sure that you are having enough vitamin C and D. You can have oranges and some citric acid fruits for vitamin C, or you could also take vitamin C supplements for this. Either way, anything that helps ...
... you build your immunity should be done.
Having strong immunity does not mean that you are never going to fall sick. It just means that the frequency of you falling sick will be much lesser than what it is right now. Of course, when you fall sick, you are going to want to look for remedies of certain kinds. Before going for allopathic medicines, you should go for natural sore throat remedies or cold remedies. One of the best ones is having honey and lemon mixed with warm water or just consuming a paste made out of it. If not curing it completely, at least it will be a good remedy for you.
One thing that you must definitely do is taking care of yourself amidst the changing seasons. Wear clothes that will protect you from winds or harsh weather, cover your years when there is a lot of wind blowing. While not many people might like this, it is recommended that you also consume warm liquids, warm water, so that your body temperature remains regularized from the inside. Make sure that you are also taking care of other in your house. Everybody around is susceptible to fall ill during changing seasons and hence, make sure that you have a good amount of protection against it.
Now even if you have natural remedies, it is important to know when to visit a doctor. If your symptoms do not subside in a week or so, then take that as a sign and visit a doctor to show your symptoms. Natural remedies might take time to work, but there is no harm if it gets clubbed with allopathic medicines and sore throat remedies prescribed from a doctor. A doctor will be able to properly diagnose your symptoms and prescribe you medicines that are necessary for your betterment.
A doctor might also prescribe a cough syrup that they might think is beneficial for your health. If you want, you can also request them to prescribe you medicine that does not have the drowsiness element in it. This way then, you can get rid of your symptoms but at the same time, you will not feel very drowsy either. It thus becomes quite a win-win situation for all. It is extremely important that you visit a doctor if you are feeling sick or are having throat infection for two weeks for this might be because of something that needs to be immediately diagnosed and only a doctor can do that.
If you are not able to go to the doctor physically for some reason, then you could also book an appointment for the doctor to visit you at home. Some people even consult their doctors online when there is no need to check out the symptoms so much.
All in all, even if you are buying medicines on your own over the counter, make sure that you get the dosage of the medicine right and also make sure that the medicine is safe. Check the ingredient label of the medicine so that you are aware as to what you are about to consume. If you are allergic to any of the ingredients, make sure that you inform your practitioner. This way then you can be safe about the medicine that you are taking for your sore throat infection, or flu or anything else.
