They have a drawback which is they are much more expensive than a storage-tank water heater. Although they heat water at any time required but sometimes, it might fail to heat the large quantity of water at a peak point of time.

They appear to have a tank-like an appearance but are different from a tank water heater. Such heaters have the capacity to draw electricity from the surroundings and using this it warms the water. Thus, it does not have the means to heat water directly. It is like a refrigerator except that it pumps heat in the vessel rather than pumping it outside of it. They are expensive but save energy and are cost-effective. However, they are not suitable for chilly areas.
