Replacement of the air compressor requires knowledge of automotive systems and may require special equipment or tools for specific applications. Therefore, the replacement steps should be performed in the order presented here.
If you are using jack stands, make sure your vehicle is adequately supported by factory approved jack points to avoid accident or injury.

Required Tools:

1). Socket set with a range of metric sockets, combination wrenches and screwdriver bits

2). Floor jack and two jack stands

3). Air Compressor tool kit

Steps:
1). After being advised by a mechanic to replace the low pressure air compressors, you should be aware of the location of the air conditioning unit on your vehicle. Under-hood units are either in front or beside the engine. When a mechanic changes a compressor, they replace the whole system with a new one.

2).To access the air system in your car, you will need to remove some parts. These include:

I)Air filter box

II)Air intake duct

III)A/C compressor belt

iV)Motor mount bracket on top of the engine

V) Negative ...
... Battery Cable

3). Raise the vehicle using a floor jack. Place two jack stands under the frame of your car on either side of the engine block. Lower the vehicle's weight onto the jack stands.

4). Use a socket wrench to detach the negative battery cable and remove it from the battery terminal.

5). Use the socket wrench to detach the A/C compressor belt from the engine.

6). Remove the motor mount bracket attached on top of the engine.

7). Remove the air intake duct, and place it to the side in a safe location.

8). Remove the air filter box, and set it aside.

9). Remove the upper bracket bolt on the compressor, and remove the belt tensioner pulley.
10). Look at the compressor, and locate the two mounting bolts on either end of the component.

11). Remove one bolt using a socket wrench and remove the other using a screwdriver.

12).Once removed, you can now take off the compressor from your vehicle.

13). Loosen the lower bracket bolt using a socket wrench and remove it.

14).Remove the low pressure air compressors from your vehicle by pulling the component out. Be careful not to damage the wires on the back of the system.

15). Place a new air compressor in position and fasten it using the two mounting bolts that you removed from your old compressor.

16). Move to the inside of the vehicle, and install the driven pulley belt on the compressor.

17). Place the new air filter box in position and attach it using the screws holding down the bracket.

18). Replace the motor mount bracket and replace its bolts.

19). Connect the A/C compressor belt to the engine using a socket wrench.

20). Refasten the motor mount bracket.

21). Connect the negative battery cable back to its original position, and tighten it using a socket wrench.

22).Refasten the A/C compressor belt and tighten it using a socket wrench.

23).Replace the air intake duct and tighten it using a socket wrench.

24). Refasten the upper A/C compressor bracket and replace its bolt.

25). Refasten the air filter box onto its bracket.

26). Refasten the A/C compressor belt tensioner pulley and tighten its bolt using a socket wrench.

27). Reconnect the air intake duct to its original position in your engine and tighten it using a socket wrench.

28). Reconnect the air filter box and tighten its bracket using a screwdriver.

27). Replace the air intake duct over the air filter box and attach it using the screws holding down its bracket.

28). Reconnect the negative battery cable to your vehicle and tighten it using a socket wrench.

29).Check all your work and ensure that the air intake duct is replaced correctly.

After this process, you should now have replaced your vehicle's low pressure air compressors. Before beginning any work on your vehicle, you should seek assistance from an experienced mechanic or a mechanic that will guide you through replacing your air compressor.
