There is no second opinion to the fact that irrigation is a highly time and resource-consuming task. It needs water, power, and lots of monitoring especially during summers when most farms are facing water shortage and all land moisture is being sucked by the scorching sun. With the advancement in technology several new irrigation systems have come up, that can water any given area with zero water wastage, with automatic on and off switches and with great efficiency.

One of those systems is the sprinkler irrigation system that waters farms in rainfall style. The water flows through the system through a pump and is then spread across the given area in form of small water droplets. The terminals have spray heads at their end that move 360 degrees or 180 degrees to water the surrounding soil surface. Sprinklers have universal application scope which means they can water lawns, backyards, landscapes and big fields as per requirement.
Features

As for the features, sprinklers can be availed of in all sizes and discharge capacities depending on the owner’s requirements. The advanced ones come with automatic ...
... timers that can be set and synced with the smart phones of the owners. It means that you can switch on/off, and decide the water spray angle, speed, and duration from any corner of your house or city. It is useful for those who have to go out every day for work or on long trips for business.

Components

A regular sprinkler irrigation system setup is constituted by below-given parts:

● Pump Unit: The pump unit is the core of this system and its job is to extract water from the source and send it to the discharging unit. Pump size, pressure, and capacity is a big differentiating factors among sprinklers. If a pump fails to supply water at an appropriate pressure, the discharging unit wouldn’t be able to spread the required volume of water at an optimum rate. Basically, it will compromise the purpose of having a sprinkler.
● Pipes: Sprinkler systems have secondary and primary pipes that transport water from the pump to the laterals. Sometimes, the pipes are installed over the ground while sometimes they are installed under the ground depending on local climate, soil nature, and other similar factors. These pipes are mostly made of aluminium, plastic or alloy and are portable in nature.

● Sprinklers: These are the water-emitting devices that convert the water jet into a stream of droplets and then disperse them in form of soft water sprays. The sprinkler size can be arranged according to pump capacity and soil area that needs to be covered.
