As efficiently soundproofing a particular environment depends on realizing the way in which sound waves are transmitted in that environment, and selecting the best soundproof methods and products which block the ability of those sound waves to bounce off and pass through the structures of the environment.

The ability of a part of sound waves to move through not just air molecules, but the molecules in the floor of the room, walls and ceiling, is referred to as sound transmission. The converse ability of a part of the same sound waves to bounce off those same molecules is considered as sound reflection. The best soundproofing treatments are those that block both sound transmissions and capture sound reflections to the maximum degree, lessening the decibel measurements in the room to a tolerable level.

Soundproof enclosure for fixed sound sources

However, the approaches used to block sound transmission vary from those used to capture sound reflection, hence there are some soundproofing methods designed to eradicate both issues. However, there are other treatments that address the issue of sound reflection. ...
... Among these treatments, the use of soundproof enclosure works very well in situations while using absorbent materials will be sufficient to reduce the noise to a tolerable level.

A noise blanket is highly efficient as they can be custom fitted to stop sound waves from being reflected from the structures in a room, and will make a substantial difference in the decibel level of the area across a fixed sound source.

There are various situations in which noise is coming from an external source, like an exterior AC unit, swimming pool pump, industrial equipment or audio speakers. Assembling either an exterior or interior noise blanket to surround the fixed source of noises like these will absorb their sound waves, so that the noise audible to anyone in the instant area will be substantially lessened.

Different types of air duct noise silencer options

An air duct noise silencer can be installed in different ways. They can be suspended either from a ceiling or a wall. They can be secured to a frame that completely surrounds the source of the noise, or can also be customized and secured to the source itself, if that solution works.

Acoustic louver and sound control enclosures from ceilings or walls are called sound absorption curtains. The heaviest sound control enclosures are manufactured on the interior layer of the vinyl coated with fiberglass to do an outstanding job of capturing soundproofing reflections. There is also sound control enclosures designed to work in adverse industrial environments, with exterior layers of dB-Bloc which make them much more durable than those of fiberglass and vinyl.

For noisy environments that are also extremely warm and humid, there are sound enclosures clad in silicone to safeguard damage from UV rays, heat and moisture.
