The higher the number of the frequency, it pertains to the higher amount of data that can be transmitted per second.

How to Make your Wireless Wi-Fi Connection Faster
a. You can move your router - walls can be the reason to block some signal that makes your connection slower, try relocating our router to a better spot to acquire better signal.
b. Use an Ethernet Cable - though wireless is still advantageous, wires and cable still exist which can give you better connection. Its more stable and cannot be affected by some other devices.
c. Try changing the band - most router now is dual band technology you may switch 2.4 GHz to 5GHz frequency.
d. You can upgrade your router - you have the option to upgrade your router most especially when wifi signal is quiet worst to some place in your house. You can also use mesh network system so there could be multiple nodes around your house.
e. You can get a Wi-Fi extender- this helps you get rid of dead zones in some areas of your house
f. You can use electrical wiring - this is another way of extender which is a powerline kit so it can provide wired or wireless to any part of your house.
g. Add password to your Wi-Fi - this is to make sure you know who can only access to your network and limit its users making it away from hackers.
h. You need to cut off unused devices - sometimes having more devices connected at the same time can slower your connection, to improve your it, you can unplug anything or disconnect device that you are not using.
i. Check your PC time to time - this is for you to monitor your activity, what some other apps might consume some of your signal or connection especially those running programs or apps in the background.
j. Try restarting your router - this is to refresh the connection that sometimes caused by fixing internet wires. Rebooting can help enhance your signal.
Wireless Wi-Fi is a very helpful tool in each of our home, or small business who use routers. Especially now that working remotely is growing the necessity to acquire wireless connection at home is very important. It helps you become flexible and productive.
