Can Lower Back Pain Be Caused By Ovarian Cysts

Ovarian cysts are a relatively common problem which affects nearly all women at some point before they reach their menopause. Ovarian cysts occur most often during the years in which women are most fertile.
The severity of ovarian cysts can vary wildly form person to person and case to case, with some ovarian cysts being the size of peas, and others the size of oranges.
Most ovarian cysts will simply fade over the course over several weeks, or months, however sometimes surgery may be required for cysts which are larger than 5cm wide. Surgery to remove ovarian cysts is generally considered safe, and effective. However due to the risk of complications many people choose to look towards natural remedies and healing aides to help remove the ovarian cysts.
Many women find themselves suffering from lower back pain caused by ovarian cysts before they are even aware that a cyst exists, and in many cases the lower back pain is a strong indicator that a cyst is there.
Lower back pain is not the only effect of an ovarian cyst. Everything from headaches, nausea, fatigue, aching of the abdomen, pelvis ...
... and vagina can all point towards an ovarian cyst. In some cases the ovarian cysts can cause extreme pain in any of these areas, which may be followed by bleeding. Fortunately this rarely indicates anything serious, although you should still consult your gynaecologist.
Most of the pain associated with ovarian cysts and the lower back is down to increased pressure internally. This can cause aches in the muscles around your lower back and abdomen which can quickly escalate from an annoyance to severe pain.
For those who want to know the answer to the question can lower back pain be caused by ovarian cysts? the answer is easily yes. Despite this, the reasons are still rather vague, however it is undeniable that many women suffer from lower back pain caused by ovarian cysts.
One of the most common causes of lower back pain by ovarian cysts is change in posture. The pain from the ovarian cysts can sometimes cause you to shift your weight to an unusual position. This will put an unaccustomed stress on your lower spine, and the lower muscles in your back. This change in posture may also make you feel clumsy and awkward, as you will lose a lot of your usual flexibility.
When ovarian cysts cause back pain in this manner the pain can often be eased slightly by a good gentle massage, and even aromatherapy. However in most cases doctors will prescribe specific pain relief drugs to help you cope with any extreme lower back pain caused by your ovarian cysts.
All in all ovarian cysts are a common cause of lower back pain in women. In most cases the cysts will disperse naturally, however in some cases they may need to be surgically removed. It is pretty hard to tell if an ovarian cyst is causing you back pain, or if something else is causing the pain. In some cases you may have to look out for other related symptoms, or even take an ultrasound or CT scan.
