The Favorite Disney Characters Of All Time

As the Walt Disney empire grows, so too does its list of favorite Disney characters. Each generation seems to have a different group of favorites, but a few classic characters always seem to pop up. After all, who can visit Disney World or Disney Land without having their picture taken with the following Disney classics?
- Mickey Mouse - Perhaps the most recognized character in the world, Mickey Mouse was the first of the Disney characters to be introduced. Many argue that the Disney fortune was made thanks to this silly mouse, whose ‘Aw, shucks' happy go lucky personality is overwhelmingly endearing.
- Minnie Mouse - Every mouse must have his maid, and therefore Minnie is nearly always at Mickey's side. Her ever-present bow is a regular accessory on ‘mouse ears' worn by people who visit the Disney theme parks. Minnie adds a touch of romance to the otherwise overwhelmingly male cast.
- Goofy - Scooby Do was undoubtedly based on this character, who is always getting into a jam and lumbering his way out.
- Pluto - That loose-limbed dog (Is he a greyhound? A basset hound? An oversized Labrador ...
... Retriever?) is the faithful companion of Goofy. His character reminds us why we nearly everyone loves dogs: Pluto is always ready to give big, sloppy kisses, and he is a faithful friend.
- Donald Duck - There is a hothead in every group of friends, and Donald Duck represents that character. This duck tends to let his temper get the best of him, unlike even-tempered Mickey. Audiences love to see him blow his top.
- Cinderella - Every little girl's dream is to find the glass slipper that fits - and consequently, find her Prince Charming. Girls visit Disney clad in full Princess gear in homage to Cinderella, who is the first Disney character to really spark the I'm a princess belief that little girls harbor.
- Pinocchio - This Disney character conveys a valuable lesson regarding truth-telling. Though he is not one of the truly most popular characters, he does allow parents to teach their children about lying and the consequences of bearing false witness.
- Ariel - A recent addition to the Disney characters clan, this character takes Princess into (and under) the sea. The star of The Little Mermaid movie reminds little girls that no matter who tries to keep them from achieving a goal, they can ultimately prevail.
- Aladdin - A favorite of girls and boys alike, this roguish boy really speaks to the troublemakers.
