There is noise everywhere and noise issues will keep on enhancing with time. Noise is special, because among all the sensory organs, the ears are the ones that can’t regulate themselves.

All other senses have a voluntary dimension; the ear nonetheless is a complete victim of the environment. And with a growing population, this environment is getting more and more contaminated. The noise pollution is a special case, simply because of this involuntary dimension.

It is not the same case when you are visiting a disco, where the noise level is much above the accepted levels. Many hearing issues appear to be related to this type of experience. But the noise level of disco is not truly a problem as long as you are visiting a disco, even if you have to go, as all your friends are going.

Part of the noise level can be considered as an architectural issue. The way in which the infrastructure is designed defines the noise level received by the population. ... would be irrelevant. But infrastructural developments grow with the growth of the cities and it is impossible to redesign the infrastructure from the scratch with architectural noise control solutions.

The use of technology can assist here, as in the case of the aircraft industry. But also the use of fresh technology needs funding. And people are now only ready to pay when they are impacted or at least aware of the issue. And with the constant growth of traffic, we will be more involved and aware of noise pollution. And we will definitely have to pay for it, sooner or letter.

Schools are environments where it is important to have good classroom acoustics and to lessen noise transfer from the adjoining rooms, for efficient learning and teaching. A noisy music lesson in one room with inferiorly sound insulated walls can apparently be highly disruptive to a quiet math lesson happening in an adjoining room. There are various ways in which noise transfer can be lessened between school learning areas.

There are different kinds of sound absorbing curtains available that can be utilized to upgrade partitions and stud walls, which don’t add tremendously to the density of the walls. These are specifically beneficial for soundproofing the music rooms.

Echo Time

There will be long echoes or echo times, in teaching zones that have many hard surfaces, and these may imply speech is blurred and hard to realize. The teacher might then raise their voice, which can enhance echo and compound the issue. The answer is to add noise absorbing curtains to the hard surfaces of the walls. These curtains are available in different fabrics and colors to suit the room that are suspended from simple to fit brackets.
