Do you have an upcoming event? Perhaps a music concert or a food festival? You'll need a platform where your customers can book their tickets!

And this is where you will have difficulty – finding the right online payment gateway for events is a difficult task, but this is due to the large number of platforms that are already available online.

India is home to a plethora of entertainment festivals and outdoor events, both corporate and family-oriented. Unlike in the past, event organizers are now selling tickets through online payment platforms. When it comes to selling tickets, you look for payment solution providers rather than just a trusted payment gateway.

So, how do you choose a payment gateway for your event?

If you want to sell tickets for an event, you'll need an online payment platform. Preferably something that is free and simple to use. But there's a lot more to consider before deciding on an online payment gateway for your event:

Have a website for your event if possible. This allows you to connect your website to your preferred payment gateway.

Maintain ...
... your marketing strategy. It makes no difference if your payment gateway is well-known; it must be reliable.

After you've completed the pre-requisites for your event, look for a payment gateway. Here are some things to think about when selecting an online payment gateway in India.

More than just a payment gateway:

Payment gateways aren't the only thing to consider. You must also consider the merchant accounts, which are essentially where your attendee payments are deposited (different from your regular business accounts). Some of the best payment gateway service providers only provide a payment gateway and require you to have your own merchant account.

1. Transaction fees:

Examine how much your payment gateway charges per transaction. Compare, analyze, and ensure that there are no long-term consequences.

2. Safety and security:

How secure is your payment gateway? Check that your payment gateway adheres to a bank-grade security level, such as PCI-DSS, and that it provides a secure encrypted environment for payments. Select any fraud detection and prevention mechanisms that are available. To avoid chargebacks and other issues, these features can be built into the gateway.

3. Processing time:

There is a deadline for your event. You should ideally collect your ticket sales a week before the event. Examine how long payment gateways take to process payments – T + 3 days is the ideal time.

4. International payments:

When selecting a payment gateway for events, ensure that your preferred processor also accepts international payments. Even if your event is taking place in India, you may have people traveling to attend it. It is critical to provide them with the option of making international payments.

5. Payment method:

Is your preferred payment method supported by the online payment gateway India? Customers will want more payment options for tickets. Check that your digital payment gateway accepts debit/credit card payments, NEFT/RTGS bank transfers, e-wallets, and UPI.

6. Transfer limit:

How much money can you receive from your payment gateway at once? The buyer or client who sends the money, not the receiver, is usually the one who pays for the payment processor's services and fees. However, because your customer is likely looking for the most affordable option, make sure you consider transaction fees before recommending a payment method (a more affordable solution will also increase your chances of getting paid properly).
