Imagine an island surrounded by warm, pure blue ocean waters, where the largely twisting and rocky coastline is broken up by long sandy beaches, and the food and culture are obviously the Mediterranean. If you have guessed Cyprus, you will be correct! Cyprus is located in the north-eastern part of the eastern Mediterranean, and the island's dives provide something for everyone, from spectacular deep dives for expert divers to easy dives on sandy bottoms for beginners. Cyprus also remains one of the top diving destinations in the world.

Whenever one sets out to scuba dive, you want to see colourful fish species, coral reefs, and other beautiful things underwater, but not all dive sites provide the same level of visibility. Fortunately, Cyprus is not one of those dive spots, and its waters provide not only the best visibility but also a plethora of underwater treasures to explore, such as the Zenobia shipwreck.

The Zenobia is Cyprus's most famous wreck dive, and the trucks tethered to the deck are not to be missed when diving in Cyprus. Then there is The Amphorae Caves near Paphos, which also have antique pottery ...
... that is still intact. The chapel is accessible from the shore, making it an ideal location for night diving, provided you dive with experienced PADI instructors.

Cyprus provides fantastic opportunities for diving excursions, with magnificent reefs (some of which are artificial) and a diverse range of sea life to enjoy. If you have never scuba-dived before but want to discover the secrets of the undersea world, a PADI-certified dive centre can provide you with the necessary training, and if you are an experienced diver, you are encouraged to partake in the dive excursions they regularly undertake. Diving in Cyprus is truly a memorable experience and something you would want to do repeatedly.

Some diving centres in Cyprus provide a wide range of diving courses, such as beginner (open water) courses, technical diving courses, instructor courses, water safety courses, and special needs dive courses. Aside from regular local boat and coastline dives to which avid divers are invited, some dive centres also organise expeditions to some of Cyprus's most prominent dive locations.

There is, of course, also the possibility of becoming a PADI diving master for those individuals who want to make scuba diving a part-time or full-time career. The first professional level in scuba diving is divemaster. If you enjoy scuba diving, becoming a Dive Master will elevate your diving trips to a whole new level. You can transform scuba diving into a full-time or part-time career with your PADI Diving Master Certificate. This is where the beach becomes your office, where you can be surrounded by happy people, adventure, and sunshine, and just do what you love.

PADI is the world's most known certification body and becoming a PADI Dive Master is a fantastic option if you enjoy travelling - from Thailand to Cape Town in South Africa, Tanzania, Mozambique, the Caribbean, Australia's Great Barrier Reef, Mexico, the Mediterranean, and many other places. All of these stamps will be added to your passport when you work as a PADI Dive Master in some of the most remote locations on the planet, and it all begins with your very first diving course.

Dive Masters that are well-trained and skilled are necessary for every scuba diving enterprise. As a result, you must choose your dive instructors carefully to ensure that you receive the finest quality training possible. Some dive centres in Cyprus employ a full-time, highly experienced PADI dive instructor, so you can be confident that you will receive the greatest instruction possible, whether you wish to complete an advanced course or simply enjoy recreational diving in Cyprus.

You don't have to be extraordinarily fit to go scuba diving in Cyprus, but you do have to be generally healthy, and children under a specific age (typically between the ages of eight and ten) are sometimes not allowed to partake in deep water scuba diving excursions, for safety concerns. There are, however, several other, fun options to explore for young children, like shallow-water snorkelling for example.
