A scenario

The cooktop up is completely charred to nothing, leaving a trail of blackness along the tiled wall and up into the ducts above. Because the ducts were leaky before the fire, this left deposits of grease on the roof. They also caught fire, and destroyed most of the roofing. All of this must happen in addition to the roof reconstruction. When deciding who to use for this, the best would be an outfit that can take away all of the damaged goods (i.e. torched wiring, liquified florescent tubes and melted heating elements) away with the bad roofing. Nobody wants to deal with any more parties than needed, especially when lawyers get involved.
