Anyone who has visited England will tell you their most exciting experience was when they were visiting London. It is a beautiful city as well as the capital of England and the United Kingdom. It is the largest city in the United Kingdom and has the largest population.

The history of London is fascinating. Going from the ancient Romans to its current situation covers mystery, wars, monarchy and many other things leading up to today. History books are full of the various episodes that occurred and which can be reviewed in the museums and historical buildings found there today.

Such things as the Tower of London, the Palace of Westminster, Big Ben and many other well-known sights are a must for any visitor. Just studying the history of the Tower of London, for example, will make it even more meaningful when visiting. First built to protect the city and even once used as a palace, many modifications have been made through the years. It is the only Norman building left and covers 18 acres.

It specializes in azaleas and rhododendrons. Hyde Park is often in the newspapers with its speakers corner where speakers can speak on any subject.

Many times, when visiting a new place, one does not know how to go about in order to see everything possible during their visit. Driving around in a strange town, trying to locate places is time consuming and tiring. To avoid this problem there are many tours available. They may be to specific locations or may just give an overview of the entire city. They are well worth one's time in order to not miss the many attractions available. When seeing something of special interest one can then return and spend more time at that location.

Visiting London is fascinating in that there is such a variety of old and new. Walking the streets one realizes that the ancient knights, kings and queens also traveled this same thoroughfare. Viewing some of the old buildings and Buckingham Palace with its famous guards as well as the numerous other attractions is something that will long be remembered as one of the best trips of a lifetime.
