Grilled kebabs are a great way to put delicious food on the table. But in order to enjoy your kebabs, you need to make sure that your meat and vegetables are cooked properly, and this can be difficult if you’re new to grilling kebabs or have never grilled kebabs before. To help you get started, here are a few tips for getting perfect grilled kebabs every time you cook them!

Marinate your Meat

Once you buy doner meat kebab meat and vegetables, it’s time to make a marinade. The main purpose of a marinade is to infuse your food with flavour as well as tenderise it, but that doesn’t mean you can’t let it do double duty and lose weight in the process.

Use Metal Skewers

If you’re using metal skewers, soak them in water for at least 30 minutes before grilling. This prevents them from scorching and damaging your kebabs. Once your skewers are ready, thread your ingredients onto them evenly. It may seem like a good idea to load up one end with heavier ingredients—like onion—but it’s actually better to keep everything balanced. That way, each bite of kebab is infused with flavour from every part ...
... of it.

Preheat your Grill

The first thing you should do is preheat your grill. Preheating your grill not only allows you to ensure that it’s properly heated, but also gives your kebabs ample time to marinate, which helps retain moisture and tenderness.

Use Different Types of Meat Together

A common mistake when grilling kebabs is using just one type of meat. That’s not to say you can’t ever use chicken, beef, and pork on a single skewer, but if you want to really up your game, try alternating between different types of meat. This will create new flavour combinations that are sure to impress. When preparing your kebabs, be sure to separate them by at least one inch—but feel free to keep them in groups of three or four pieces.

Don’t Overcrowd Your Grill

If you’re cooking multiple kebabs, make sure there’s space between each one—grill them in batches, if necessary. Filling your grill with too many kebabs at once can cause them to steam instead of char. While grilling a single kebab, keep it at least 6 inches from other items on your grill (either food or grease or flames). You don’t want a flare-up when it comes time to flip!

Rotate Every Few Minutes While Cooking

Keep your kebabs turning every few minutes while they’re cooking. If you don’t, parts of them will get overdone—dry and burned—while other areas remain undercooked. You can use a skewer to rotate your kebabs; just stick it through and move it around until all parts are evenly cooked.

Use a Thermometer!

Keep an eye on your meat when you’re grilling, and don’t trust just visual cues. The best way to know if your kebabs are cooked is by using a thermometer. Do not rely on what it looks like!

If you’re not having fun, you’re doing it wrong. This is supposed to be a leisurely activity—not some stressful, competitive showdown. So relax and enjoy yourself! Good food should be enjoyed with good company. If you can manage that, then your kebabs will taste great every time.
