Australian Vehicles With Mandatory Led Daytime Running Lights

While the invention of the automobile was a watershed moment in our history, it has also created new challenges. One such challenge is that cars are noisy and can be dangerous when first hitting the road at night. Drivers can be blinded by headlights, allowing other drivers more time to brake or swerve.
The solution? Daytime running lights (DRLs). These lights are on during daylight hours, predominantly during morning and evening commutes. This allows other drivers to see your vehicle better and react quickly if need be.
Daytime running lights serve as a safety feature, especially for nighttime drivers. Drivers can be blinded by headlights, allowing other drivers more time to brake or swerve.
While these lights are installed in modern vehicles, they are not always functional or used effectively by all drivers. Many motorists do not know what DRLs are or how they work, so they do not use them properly. What you should know about LED daytime running lights is that they have been ...
... mandated for use in some regions and countries for many years now. In Australia, for example, DRLs must be installed on all new passenger cars since 2007.
We will discuss the importance of daytime running lights for a vehicle in this article, along with new regulations regarding their use in Australia.
In Australia there are regulations over day time running lights. These regulations are enforced by the Department of Infrastructure and Regional Development in New South Wales (Australia). The Australian Road Rules define the rules around Day Time Running Lights (DRL) in section 253.
Daytime running lights (DRLs) are useful for a vehicle in a variety of ways. Cars with DRLs:
Are easier to see during daylight hours by cars, other vehicles, and pedestrians
Are safer and less likely to be involved in an accident
Are more visible to other vehicles and pedestrians during the day, which can be helpful for car accidents and pedestrian accidents
In Australia, it is important to have DRLs on your vehicle because it is currently being used as a way to prevent traffic accidents and make the roads safer. In fact, from 2008-2012, there was a 13% decrease in road fatalities in Australia due to DRL usage.
LED day time running lights are a relatively new and popular addition to vehicles. They are most common in cars, but have also found their way onto motorcycles and trucks. The name should be enough to tell you what they do – they light the road up during the day.
