Personal Profile: Shraddha Narayan heads to Hampta Pass with her friends
So, this is how it happened! I was about to get married and my friends were searching for a venue for the bachelorette. Knowing that we all loved trekking and that I hadn’t taken the Hampta Pass trek yet, they thought that this would be the ideal location – a Hampta Pass Trek.
A month later we were on our way to Manali from where the trek was supposed to begin. There may be other Hampta Pass trek routes also but the one from Manali sounded the best. My fiancé felt that this was the craziest thing to do but at the same time wanted us to go ahead with the plan.
I fell in love with Hampta Pass the moment I heard about it and scrolled through the pictures. For regular trekkers like me and my friends, Hampta Pass trek and Chandratal trek was always on our list.
After we reached Manali we were picked up and driven to Gadi Dera. We began our Hampta Pass trek route from here. Surrounded by deodar forests the trail ...
... looked stunning already. It was a short trail that day and we reached the campsite for lunch. The best part was after we reached the campsite. Since we had the day to ourselves, we explored the area nearby and were stunned by this beautiful place.
The next day was gonna be a bit challenging as the trail would be difficult. However, we all were excited as we were to reach the Hampa Pass trek base camp that day. We walked through forests at the base of Deo Tibba & Inderkilla – and it felt surreal. The trail was a little difficult but it was fun too. We arrived at the base camp and the day had come to an end.
I think this had turned out to be the best trip and a unique bachelorette ever. We had 2 more days to go and the best part was yet to come of the Hampta Pass Trek.
The next day we made our way to Hampta Pass post breakfast. It was beautiful, to say the least. I think this will always be one of my favourite trekking destinations in India. We clicked a lot of pictures, explored the landscape and reluctantly headed back to our base camp.
I was overwhelmed as we reached the base camp and couldn’t thank my friends enough for this wonderful experience. We promised that we shall continue to trek like this and would come back here again but next time for the Hampta Pass and Chandratel trek.
The next day we trekked back to Gadi Dera and then to Manali. This Hampta Pass trek was an experience beyond words and I’m glad I’ve friends who made it so special.
