To get yourself registered as a Chartered Engineer (CEng) by Engineers Australia, you need to through an assessment process called Competency Standard Stage 2, which is a step towards being a CPEng.
The Stage 2 competency standard gives an idea of the applicant’s knowledge, professional skills, engineering application abilities, technical qualifications, disciplines, and disciplines that the candidate has to display to work independently.

Necessary documents for Stage 2 Competency Standard:
A candidate has to have a series of document submissions for attaining the Chartered recognition given by Engineers Australia. The documents will be necessary to be eligible for a professional engineer.

• Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Record
• Engineering Competency Claims (ECCs)

Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Record:
The Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Record shows the candidate’s skills and knowledge in the engineering field they claim. It’s an integral part of the National Engineering Registration (NER) application.

The candidate must show how much of the CPD hours they have attained in the last three years. It includes the details on their commitment towards the engineering product, technological efficiency, criteria they show in the workplace.

Engineering Competency Claims (ECCs):

Engineering Competency Claims (ECC) needs the candidate to refer to their core competencies with the work experience. Their involvement in the technological field of engineering is reflected using the Engineering Competency Claims. The total number of Competencies that claim to be submitted is dependent on the type of pathway the candidate has chosen. For instance, they have to have a total of sixteen engineering competency claims for the ECR pathways.

Engineering Experience Record (EER):

Here, the candidate has to include all their work experience records. They need to refer to the employer’s name under whom they have worked. They also need to mention the job duties and responsibilities they had in their employment period. The word limit for this should be nearly 700 words.

Updated CV or resume:

They need to upload the latest resume or CV for their Stage 2 assessment application to become a CPEng. They need to include their work experience history with the one they are involved in in the present. It must be written precisely and clearly.
