Indian education has been banging on the door to make the shift to Online Teaching app, but it has been like an owl, unwilling to change its eyes away from the reality of it. Worldwide, one-third of students are less than six years old. Due to an unidentified pandemic, over 32 crores students in India are at risk. But global media attention has not caught up to this pandemic quickly enough due to the lower funding for health care policies. The Indian government currently spends 4.6% of its GDP on education-lower than sub-Saharan countries which spend about 10%. Timely care is the key to quality education. This results in an unorganized and unclear regulatory environment that allows anything and any company to become a teacher without oversight or regulation.

Potential parents in India may not be ready to pay tuition or show positive attitudes towards private universities. Almost a third of families surveyed felt the fees were too high, and two thirds would want the guarantee of being able to see their child participate in lectures if they were not able to come physically.

Students of the younger generation are habitual of self-directed learning and can learn by themselves. They do not need a teacher to tell them what they cannot do. In this uncertain situation, they are demanding an education that will help motivate self-dicipline rather than taking charge of their learning and thinking about their future careers or grades.

In India, online teaching has been a reality from day 1. With professors adjusting to the constant need for modernization, it came as little surprise when they adjusted quickly to all new technologies and embraced technological changes in education. In 2020, teachers were forced with harsh reality and transitioned their profession online swiftly.
