Kuvempu Biography
Kuppali V Gowda Putappa nicknamed Kuvempu (ಕುಪ್ಪಳ್ಳಿ ) was a Kannada language poet. He was born on 29 December 1904 in Shimoga, Kuppali, Karnataka state. His mother's name was Sitamambi and his father's name was Venkatappa Gowda. Ramayana was introduced from a modern perspective in his book 'Sri Ramayana Darshanam'. His home was located at Tirthahalli in Shivamogga district. He was awarded the Sahitya Akademi Award in 1955 for the epic. Kuvempu was married to Hemvati on 30 April 1937, from whom he has two sons, and two daughters. Kuvempu's career There is also a sad incident associated with this symbol of honor of Kuvempu's life.

Born on December 29, 1904 in Mysore, Kuvempu is the first such Kannada writer. Kuppali Venkatappa Puttappa died at the age of 89 in Mysore in the Indian state of Karnataka on November 11, 1994.
