Android Users Can Finally Form Communities On Twitter

Four months after launching on iOS and the web, Twitter is bringing its Communities feature to Android. Android users can now participate in Communities via the Twitter app if they have upgraded to the newest version, according to the social media giant. A new Communities tab will appear in the user's navigation bar whenever they join their first community.

The tool is intended to make it easier for users to connect with others who share similar interests. Instead of tweeting to their typical circle of followers, users can join social hubs and tweet directly to other people who share their interests. Although the tweets are public, only other members of the community can respond. Since its inception, Twitter says the functionality has grown, with new Communities launching every week and thousands of individuals participating in a variety of themes like Roblox, Xbox Community, Tech Twitter, Fashion, R&B Twitter, and Formula 1.

... the other hand, is looking on a "request to join" feature that allows admins and moderators to approve or deny requests. It will also test a "Ranked Timeline," in which users will see the most recent tweets from their Communities first, although they will still be able to view their timeline in chronological order.
