Naina Devi Temple
According to mythology, one of the burnt limbs of Goddess Sati fell in this town. The locals believe that it was the eye, which is why Nainital is home to one of the Shakti Peethas of India i.e. Naina Devi Temple. That is also one of the reasons why Nainital is the lake of eyes. On a ...

Eco Cave Gardens
Known for its interconnected rocky caves, music fountains and hanging gardens, the Eco Garden Nainital has a set of six animal-shaped caves in Mallital. The caves in the garden are like the natural habitat of animals burning with petroleum lamps. Tiger, monkey, bat, panther and flying fox caves are some of the famous caves in the garden. Remember, you have to crawl to get inside the cave, so it's not for toddlers and elders. Open from 10am to 4.30pm you will have to pay a small fee to enter the garden.

From this point you can see Trishul, Nanda Devi and Nanda Kot peaks together. Check out a large pair of installed binoculars for a closer look. If you want to see the whole town, take a cable car ride from Mall Road to Snow Viewpoint. Try your hand at shooting targets hanging in stalls. For a small fee, you get 6 chances to shoot. For kids, there are other small stalls with fair games that they can play to win toys and other items. Opening hours Sunday through Friday from 10.30am to 5pm.
