Umrah is an Islamic pilgrimage that is, in reality, an act of Allah's devotion (SWT). It is based on the Holy Prophet's (PBUH) teachings and Sunnah. 1. Ihram

In Allah's name, and peace and blessings be upon Allah's Messenger. O Allah, pardon my misdeeds and open the gates of Your forgiveness to me. From the accursed Satan, I take shelter with Allah the Almighty and in His magnificent Countenance and immortal might.

The pilgrim can then begin the Tawaf by touching the Black Stone (Hajar-e-Aswad). The pilgrim should ideally touch it with his right hand before kissing it. After completing the seven rounds of Tawaf, the pilgrim must go to Ibrahim's station (Maqam-e-Ibrahim). The pilgrim should then offer two Rakat of prayer behind Maqam-e-Ibrahim. If this is not possible, the pilgrim may offer his or her prayers in any part of the mosque. During the first rakah, Surah Al-Kafirun is recited and for the second rakah, Surah Al-Ikhlaas is recited. Following the prayer, the person should return to the Black Stone and, if possible, touch it.

3. Sai

The pilgrim should next proceed to the town of Sai (Masaa), and when he approaches the hill of Safa, recite the following:

We begin with Allah's start.

The pilgrim must next ascend the Safa hill to a vantage point from which the Kaaba may be seen. He or she should stand in front of the Kaaba, lift his or her hand, and supplicate to Allah (SWT). The pilgrim is allowed to create any dua he or she wants. The pilgrim should next descend to Marwa, with the males running between the green lights.

4. Haircutting/shaving of the head

Finally, the pilgrim must cut his or her hair after completing the seven circles. Men must shave their heads or have their hair trimmed evenly across their entire heads. Women must have their hair cropped to around the length of a fingertip.

The pilgrim's Umrah is officially completed with this final deed.
