We’ve often heard of 1200 calorie deficient diets that help with weight loss, but do such diets actually work in the long-term? One of the biggest misconceptions surrounding being overweight is the need to lose weight fast.

People believe that losing weight should be easy and try to find shortcuts when losing weight. However, this also means that people tend to cut down on essential nutrients when cutting out food. Most diet plans also completely restrict carbohydrate intake. This means that macronutrients that give the body energy are lost.

Secondly, finding shortcuts to lose pounds fast, will harm the digestive system. When you cut out nutrients, you damage the gut, leading to a loss or malabsorption of nutrients. This in turn creates a leaky gut.

A diet for weight loss for female should also take into consideration the amount of calories needed on menstruating and non-menstruating days. Most women need a higher amount of calories during their menstrual cycles as opposed to other days.

Further, blood work and healing your gut go hand-in-hand. Taking a complete blood test that explains your vitamins ...
... and minerals, blood sugar levels and haemoglobin levels help with figuring out the nutrients you need for your nourishment.

This will help when learning to eat for your body. Once you learn how to eat for your gut rather than losing weight will help you feel more energetic and lively. Eating for your gut rather than eating for losing weight is also sustainable in the long term. Eating for losing weight without restricting any particular food group also helps you sleep better and improves mood.

Finally, it is also important to note the amount of exercise done and your own medical history before starting any diet plan. Without taking into consideration the medical history, it becomes difficult to understand nutritional needs.
