Showering is a good thing but showering too often may remove all the healthy oil and bacteria from the skin, making your skin dry, flaky and itchy. Our skin gets exposed to dirt, pollution, and harmful UV rays.

To make the skin healthy, moisturized and hydrated, people use body lotions. You can use a body lotion if your skin feels less soft and supple. To nourish the body's skin to perfection, add body lotion to your skincare routine.

What is a body lotion?

It is a lotion which keeps our skin moisturized. It is designed to apply over the whole body. Just like we moisturize our skin daily, our body needs moisturization too. Body lotions are rich, milky, light mousse or hydrating oils.

It coats the skin in a thick luxurious layer of moisture which treats dehydrated skin. It easily spreads over the body as it has a thin consistency. Body lotions can be used everyday as they are easily absorbed by the skin.

Why to use body lotion?

Pampering the body after shower is necessary as shower makes our skin dehydrated and removes healthy oil. Even use of soap may cause irritation ...
... and dry skin. There is a need to apply body lotion right after shower to trap skin’s moisture. Your body needs body lotion to look soft and smooth. Using body lotion provides many benefits, some of them are listed below:

1. It helps to soften and smooth the skin.
2. It provides protection against microbial invasion.
3. It keeps your skin healthy and maintains pH level.
4. It prevents dryness and itchiness of the skin.
5. It gives protection against harmful UV rays.
6. It helps to make your skin even-toned, glowing and younger.
7. It makes you feel and smell good.
8. Apply body lotion within a few minutes of drying off the skin.

How to pamper your skin with body lotion?

First step is to choose a good quality body lotion. There are many body lotion manufacturers, you have to choose wisely according to your skin type. If you have dry skin and you are reapplying the body lotion after every hour, then stop it now. It would give you no results. Instead of reapplying body lotion, apply it once after taking a shower.

1. First step is to take a shower because your skin becomes warm and damp after the shower. Warm skin is perfect for applying body lotion as it allows the skin to draw the maximum benefit from the body lotion.
2. After shower, pat dry your skin.
3. Take a small amount of body lotion on your palm.
4. Now, rub your palms together to warm up the lotion.
5. Massage the body lotion with your hands in circular motion.
6. Apply on your skin especially on dry and rough skin like the elbow and knees.

Many body lotion manufacturers are there in the market, so you have to choose wisely which body lotion is good for your skin types.
