According to the recent amendment that Amazon announced, the paid leave time has been shortened to 7 days, which sums up to 40 hours. Amazon has said that this amendment has been made on the basis of the recommendation given by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

They must submit a report suggesting they are covid positive.
They get 7 days of paid leave time, i.e. 40 hours in total.
The employees affected for more than a week are however provided additional leave options.
