Miel Natural | How To Choose The Best All-natural Face Cleanser For Your Skin

We all like to experiment, don’t we? At least, I do. So, whenever a friend tells me about a new vegan moisturizer or my neighbor brags about deodorant that keeps her fresh during her gym, I listen carefully and later try that product out myself.
As my journey to green my beauty routine has seen several years and tested hundreds of natural products- even the men’s deodorants when referred by a trusted source. If you are reading this, I am sure you too want to shift to natural beauty products. Here, I am sharing a few tips on natural products.
Switching to natural products is the right thing to do
Naturally, the question that comes to our mind is whether switching to natural products is a good thing or not? I stick to beauty products made from natural ingredients. This is why I avoid skincare and beauty products that contain artificial ingredients and dyes. Why? Because they make sensitive skin dry, itchy, and flaky. As a woman dealing with multiple skin conditions like eczema and erythema multiforme, I’m extremely conscious of what I am feeding or putting on my skin. Thankfully, natural ingredients have ...
... given me the expected results over the years.
A report in Seminars in Cutaneous Medicine and Surgery Journal stated that allergic reactions on the skin (itchy skin, flaky skin) are highly triggered by the personal care product, especially in females. The real irritating culprits are artificial fragrances and preservatives.
Here, are some more reasons to consider switching to green beauty products:
• To stay true to your environmental beliefs on sustainable manufacturing processes and naturally derived ingredients.
• To take a step towards saving the planet and adding more to your green lifestyle.
• Follow the medical advice from your dermatologist and care for your skin conditions.
So, are you ready to shift to natural products and try them on? Usually, I test a few lotions, makeup, and body soaps every month or two, so now I’ve mastered assessing the effectiveness and shelf-life of the promising products.
How to shift to Natural Products
Before you jump to press the pump, allow yourself the time and space to test new products. I give at least two or three weeks for daily use products, such as deodorants. Remember, your body needs time to adjust to natural products and the way it interacts with your chemistry.
• Look for the products that suit your lifestyle
Give a quick read to the fine prints on the back of the bottles and tubes. Be sure the products you are selecting do justice to your personal values, such as buying items manufactured from naturally derived ingredients, and whether they are cruelty-free or not.
• Choose the item that meets your demands
Once you have read about the company and the product, make sure it does what it claims, and what you need. For example, if you need a product to reduce the sweat when you go for a run, you need an antiperspirant and not a deodorant.
• Select products worth the price
Okay, you might have found the perfect product, but can you afford it? Yes, for the few weeks of the trial you can but what if you fall in love with the product, does it fit in your monthly bills? Personal beauty care products and cosmetics can be priced at soaring high prices and get expensive quickly.
• Give the product a try
Now, it’s time to test and see what you think. Tip one: try one product at a time, and apply it to clean skin. Once I tried a new face wash and a new moisturizer, I wasn’t sure which one irritated my skin.
• Give time to your body
Let the body adjust to the new product. You might want it to work instantly, but it doesn’t work that way. For a few products, like creams, it may take a few weeks to show results. Your body needs time to wear down the previous product and for the new product to start working.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of the product
Now, the question is, does the product stand up to your expectations? Any more or less? Are you satisfied with the results- even if they vary from what you had expected? See, what works for your friends, doesn’t necessarily work for you- as all of us have different types of skin. Or it might work better! If you notice any allergies and irritation on your skin, immediately stop using the product.
After so much trial and error with natural products over the years, I loved some of them and some not so much. Be patient with your personal care products. If you have high hopes for a new toothpaste or deodorant with natural ingredients, and if they don’t meet your expectations, don’t get disheartened. You will find the perfect product that will meet your budget, expectations, and preferences.
