Primary packaging

Tertiary packaging

Tertiary packaging is different from both primary & secondary packaging because its not usually seen by the end user, they ‘ll receive the benefits of an unharmed, high-quality product. It’s often also referred to as bulk or transit packaging because its main goal is to provide protection during shipping & storage. Tertiary packaging also provides a convenient way to move inventory quickly with easy handling. Some examples of tertiary packaging include the wood pallets on which products are placed before the during shipment, the stretch wrap the used to utilize those same products onto the pallet.
