Antonina Bogdanovic, daughter of Peter Bogdanovic, makes her directorial debut with this crime thriller. The film tells the story of two brothers with troubled fathers who try to improve their lives while getting involved in criminal activities. 9kmovies is a well-known piracy website that provides an extensive selection of Tamil and Telugu films to this is viewers for free. The film has some interesting ideas but unfortunately fails to realize them, making it a generic crime thriller.

His boxer brother Beckett blends in with the crowd
Brothers Samuel (Thomas Brody-Sangster) and Beckett (Luke Kleinman) try to cope with their father Warren (Sebastian Roche), who has a gambling and alcohol problem. Samuel is taught by Warren, who is also an "occasional artist" and spends his days reciting Shakespeare in the city. Samuel's only solution is to read The Phantom Plot, a comic book of which Warren disapproves. His boxer brother Beckett blends in with the crowd, and Samuel changes pockets to make ends meet. Meanwhile, Warren owes money to a local poor man and now demands his family to pay his debts.

Beckett and Larry ...
... make a stupid decision
Beckett reunites with Larry, an old friend from his reform school days, and they try to get rich with counterfeit money. Eventually, Beckett meets and falls in love with Larry's mother, who is also struggling with her current life. Beckett and Larry make a stupid decision and get into trouble with local criminal Smash Mouth. All these clues lead to a big Mexican reunion.

Beckett was a two-dimensional character
This story promised a lot from the very first scene. It's clear that the most interesting character is Samuel, played brilliantly by Thomas Brody-Sangster. This character was complex, both with his unique knowledge of Shakespeare and his relationship with his equally unique father, as well as his obsession with the Phantom Halo comic strip and how he uses it to escape his current life. But the story soon begins to revolve around Beckett. Beckett was a two-dimensional character with a generic criminal background who tries to pull off another con to save his life. This development is not particularly bad, but it is nothing new and, given the promise of the characters and the story, it is a little disappointing.

The mother falling in love with her son's friend
The secondary romance between Beckett and Larry's mother is predictable but also entirely appropriate. The mother falling in love with her son's friend is unusual enough, but this subplot adds nothing, is not particularly meaningful, and does not contribute to the development of the story.

It quickly gets sidetracked by trial and error
Antonia Bogdanovic’s first film is a solid piece of work that uses some excellent ideas from the screenplay she wrote with Anne Heffron based on Bogdanovic’s short film My Left-Handed Man. However, as this is Bogdanović's first feature film, one can't help feeling that he wanted to play it safe instead of finding bolder and more interesting roots. Unfortunately, the audacious plot forces the film into the mainstream of stories we have seen many times before. The uniqueness of this story is that it quickly gets sidetracked by trial and error.

Thomas Brody-Sangster, especially Samuel, gives a great performance
Thomas Brody-Sangster, especially Samuel, gives a great performance, but I feel he is underused. Luke Kleinman fits the story of the "strong older brother trying to keep the family together" perfectly, and it's not his fault that he plays the role so well, but as I mentioned before, the character is two-dimensional. themoviesflix is a type of pirated website that allows downloading content for free. Smash Mouth is played by Tobin Bell from Saw, and I felt I had to mention him because I like his character (or what little we see of him). I think Bell did a great job bringing the character to life with good characterization and acting.

It had some great ideas and very interesting
Overall, I think this film was a bit of a missed opportunity. It had some great ideas and very interesting characters that could have been explored more, but instead, they chose to focus on the "too predictable" storyline that has been used so many times.
