A water nymph falls in love with a man (Jakob Metzen) and becomes human, but her fate is sealed when he reveals his infidelity and decides to end their relationship. This is where the film begins. Although I didn't know Undine well enough to understand the main points of the story, Petiolate was certainly able to convey Undine's and Christoph's many inner thoughts with the same unflinching discretion with which he presents his characters.
This is accentuated even more in the scene
Some would say that Undine is a film about emotions and that we should feel the raw love between Undine and Christoph. But there isn't a single moment when their relationship fits, or when a legitimate human connection is established between them where we say to ourselves, "Ah!" There is not a single moment when their relationship does not fit together, or when a legitimate human bond is not established between them where we say: "Aha! Undine is not human and her relationship with Christophe is completely unnatural. This is accentuated even more in the scene where we hear all the versions and covers of the Bee Gees' Stayin'.
