India is one of the best tourist's destinations that offer a wide range of places to all types of tourists. People from all over the world flock to the country to experience its rich cultural heritage from the ancient mughal empire to the modern age. The major places in India include the capital city Delhi, hill stations like Darjeeling, Manali and many others and the deserts of Rajasthan and Gujarat. The capital city attracts major portion of the tourists. Delhi is famous for its architectural heritage that dates back to the Mughal Empire. The major places include the red fort which was built by the mughal emperor Shahjahan during the period of 1638 to 1648. The red fort or the Lal quila is a masterpiece that represents the grandness of the mughal architecture. The red fort is a grand structure and is famous for the structures like the Diwan-e-khas, Diwan-e-aam and the mosque in the fort.

Some of these places include the hill station called Nainital which is also known by the name of the lakes town because of the large number of lakes it holds. The major the lakes offer a beautiful sight of the whole city that gets lighted up. Nainital is famous for its scenic beauty and the pleasant weather. The tourist enjoys the warm hospitalization for which India is famous. The other places of interest in Nainital include the Naina Devi temple. The temple is situated at the north end of the lake. Then there is the Naina peak which is also popularly known as the china peak. The Naina peak is one of the highest peaks in Nainital. Next is the snow view point which can be reached by the cable car and it offers a great view of the snow covered Himalayan mountains. Nainital also attracts thousands of local tourists particularly from north India.
