Introduction
Sometimes, we, as digital marketers, write a ton of content, Still, we are not able to get to the first page. If this is the case with you, Then you should read this whole blog. In this blog, I am going to tell you what are latent semantic Keywords? How using them in the context of your target keywords can help change your page ranking? Understanding LSI is very significant for any lead generation agency.

So what is a latent semantic keyword or latent semantic indexing(LSI)?
A latent semantic keyword is a keyword related to the target keyword of a particular topic. When in our content we put a lot of related words to the main keyword then the whole context of the topic becomes clear and search engines can give clear results for a specific search. Latent semantic indexing (LSI) in the context of SEO is when search engines try to figure out the intent behind your search by putting it with other related words. It is like a word cloud, which has lots of similarly related words to the phrase that you search for.

Now, they need not be synonyms but they are closely related to the topic that ...
... you searched for. For example, if you are searching for “battery for mobile”, then you might come across words like smartphone, android, etc. Without providing those other keywords in the search related to “battery for mobile”, you might get completely different results like an electric battery, inverter battery, etc.

So it is significant that we provide related keywords or LSI keywords in a topic for the search engines to clearly understand what we are writing about and then show it in the search result for the specific target keyword.

Why did search engines start using LSI?
Well, the search engines started using LSI because, in the good old days of SEO, people started stuffing the keywords in an article or blog to let the search engine know what the topic is about. As a lead generation agency one may be familiar with this. Now search engines want to give the most relevant and quality result to the one who is searching. So to know the relevance and quality of the content the search engines started relying on related keywords to the topic or the latent semantic keywords. So going back to our example of “battery for mobile”, if we use words like smartphone and android then search engines will get a better idea that this topic is about “battery” in the context of mobile and not “battery” in the context of inverter or electric battery.

Three ways to start using LSI keywords:
Look at the “people also ask” and “people also searched for” as they reveal a lot of related topics to the main keyword that one is searching for. Another method to using LSI keywords is LSIGRAPH/keywords everywhere/KEYWORDTOOL.IO

These are the tools using them a content creator can find out the related LSI keywords and then use them in your content.

The third way to use LSI keywords is to use MONKEYLEARN.COM or any other word cloud generator. In this, you need to copy and paste the top 3 search results and generate a cloud to see the common words related to that topic. It will give you a fair idea about the keywords which you need to use in the topic for which you are writing the content.

Conclusion:
Using Latent semantic keywords in your content can help search engines put your content in the top search results. Innogenx is a lead generation agency that can help you put you on the top of search results.
