Depending on the type of sector or industry, computer manufacturers or simply any high tech product manufacturer will have to adapt its products and be sometimes innovative to make sure that these products that can sometimes be fragile will be used by anybody and even everywhere.

This can be particularly the case in industrial sectors where the need of computers, keywords and industrial touch screens is important, but with particular specification. In many cases, products like industrial LCD displays will have to comply with a long list of elements to be bought and used in various places like a factory, a train station or outdoors.

We usually do not realise that a TFT display or LCD display used in a factory for example will have to cope with many different elements that would not exist in an office or a house.
Industrial computers and screens would need to be able to cope with temperature variations, dust, twenty four hour use, and so on. A normal computer would probably fry after a few months or simply break down because dust would enter everywhere or because it would not stand temperature variations.

... That is why we often see strange looking computers in factories or public places. These computers will need a shell to protect them against temperature variations and dust for example, and the same principle would apply for industrial touch screens.
There are so many vital parts inside a computer that they need to be well protected. Those elements such as a hard drive will also have to be able to stand being used for long hours.
A touch screen places in a train station or any public places will be used many times and will have to be very robust to last a few years.
It is more common to see rugged laptops for an outdoor use. You will often see those products with architects, builders or even in the army. The main advantage is that these laptops can usually deal easily with dust, rain and other outdoor elements.

While we see more and more clients with very specific needs and requirements, bespoke computers and equipment are a very common request. As some sectors need a very specific type of computer or screen, only bespoke solutions and custom display products can be used.

As needs change and become sometimes very specific, computer and screens manufacturers need to adapt themselves to be able to provide quality products that will meet their clients requirements to a high level.
