We know that nutrients are important for your body’s functioning. Since skin is the largest organ in your body, it makes sense that consuming a range of balanced nutrients are as important to your skin health as they are to the health of any other part of your body. Part of Azuri’s natural skincare mission is to make sure that each of our natural skin care products is always nutrient rich.

Your skincare should provide your skin with the essential nutrients to support its biological processes. There are five categories of essential nutrients that will do this:

1. Vitamins

2. Minerals

3. Enzymes

4. Amino Acids

5. Fatty Acids

Vitamins are micronutrients necessary for your body to function. The common vitamins you may have heard of for skin health are vitamin A, C, D, K, and E. Minerals are another category of micronutrients that supports your skin’s processes. Important minerals in luxury skincare for sensitive skin include zinc and selenium. Minerals are an important component in your skin’s structure. Enzymes are a key type of exfoliator for skin health. In your body, enzymes ...
... help you digest your food. In skincare, enzymes “digest” dead skin cells to reveal smoother and brighter skin. Amino acids play an important role in maintaining your overall health and beautiful skin. They help maintain your skin’s hydration, texture, and generally healthy appearance. Fatty acids protect and support your skin barrier, which in turn protects the texture and hydration in your skin.

As you have probably noticed, these five categories of essential nutrients have some overlap in skin benefits but each are important on their own and in combination with each other to best support your skin’s natural processes and give it a boost. The botanicals used at Azuri have been used for hundreds of years by Indian and African communities; they are time-tested and deeply traditional. Many (chemicals) in skincare are inspired by and designed to mimic the qualities of the nutrient rich ingredients used in natural skincare. The natural ingredients in brightening cream for dry skin often contain a well-rounded and balanced nutritional (density). Marula, for example, contains high levels of antioxidants, essential fatty acids, and amino acids that, together, slow down signs of aging in the skin and promote skin resiliency. These ingredients, combined with modern skin care practices, create beautiful, effective, and gentle natural skin care products that promote long-term skin health and rejuvenation.
