Think, too, of doing market research as to who you are targeting and how you will get the product to them. Will it be direct marketing from you, the manufacturer to the customer – without an intermediary such as a wholesaler or retailer, either in a store or via website ordering channels? If this is the case, will you be geared toward receiving visitors or shipping directly to your customers?

The next consideration should also receive proper attention, i.e., freight costs, product fulfillment, and related aspects of your total logistical plan. Fulfillment refers to the packaging of products such as, say, bagging, filling tubes or bottles, sealing, and wrapping. This is important as first impressions upon receiving your product may make a lasting impression on the buyer.

The next important issue concerns advertising, other forms of marketing, arranging a launch. Thereafter it will be important to use the most successful channels for marketing, whether you have a shop front, a website, advertisement in the local press – even on TV. All of these combine to influence marketing, sales volumes, and, ultimately, the success of your business.

This raises the question: Is there no other more practical way than doing it all by yourself?
