DRIVING LENSES AND COATINGS
DRIVING LENSES
Sunlight can be hindering whilst driving, which make the most confident of drivers can feel less safe. Glare from the sunlight is not only a summer issue, this is common all year round and in all weather conditions, some more obvious than others, which can catch you out. Reflections from windows, wet roads, to low sunlight in winter are just some of the glares you aren’t always watching out for. Of course, these glares can cause temporary blindness which is what we need to avoid. This can be avoided by wearing the right eyewear and lenses.

WHAT IS THE BEST TYPE OF LENSES FOR DRIVING?
It depends on what brand you are going to go for on our website. We stock the best optical brands: Ray-Ban, Nikon, Essilor, Oakley, our own Fashion Eyewear packages and more. If you wear your glasses every day, however, if you need them for daily tasks such as driving we recommend a high-quality lens. You can then add your coating to make it more functional for driving.

ANTI-GLARE COATING
We recommend an anti-glare coating, these are perfect for anti-reflection ...
... while driving. This coating is available on all our lenses types and will eliminate those headlights and sunlight which can hinder your vision.

NIKON SEECOAT DRIVE
If you are buying a Nikon lens then you must add the SeeCoat Drive coating. This lens has been tailored to us drivers who spend a lot of time on the roads. It has many qualities; reduces glare, superior day vision, clear and transparent lenses, and can be worn at all times of the day.

POLARISED LENSES
As well as adding an anti-glare coating we also recommend polarised lenses. Polarised lenses are perfect for driving as they eliminate glare in daylight from horizontal surfaces such as roads, water and snow. Another bonus that comes with a polarised lens is 100% UV protection which can help ease eye strain.

TOM FORD EYEWEAR
Tom Ford Blog
Our new collection of Tom Ford for Summer21 is now live, but before shopping our new range, here is a little history behind one of the most highly respected designers of eyewear.
ABOUT TOM FORD
Tom Ford has always been a pioneer in the fashion industry - famous for turning, Gucci into a billion-dollar brand and starting his own fashion house.
Born in Texas, Tom Ford attended New York University majoring in art history, he then studied architecture at Parsons. Tom Ford then went on to lead an impressive range of luxury fashion houses from Chloe, Perry Ellis, Gucci, and now Tom Ford.
Founded in 2006, Tom Ford initially was made up of cosmetics and menswear before branching out into womenswear and of course accessories.

TOM FORD EYEWEAR
Tom Ford partnered with eyewear manufacturers Marcolin after opening his fashion house, this lead to the distribution of optical frames and sunglasses. The new Tom Ford collection takes inspiration from the shapes colours popular in the 1950s and 1970s. It brings us bold shapes and clean lines with combinations of metals and acetate. It’s all new but unique and recognisably Tom Ford at the same time. The new collection is inspired by the Tom Ford cornerstone concepts of “refined minimalism” and “precious combinations”.

Refined Minimalism
This concept is made up of essential designs, premium materials and timeless shapes
Precious combinations
Combining a mixture of acetate and metals, technological innovation, two-tone lenses and unexpected designs.
Of course, iconic Tom Ford Eyewear traits are still present - the classic such ‘T’ metal logo, infinity symbol, and iconic colourways.
The optical collection has followed the same design inspiration but the focus is on blue light lenses. Blue light lenses are the “must-have” solution for people spending extended periods of time in front of computers, laptops, Ipads, and phones. These devices emit potentially harmful UV rays - blue light lenses can help prevent eye strain and eye fatigue. Perfect for both prescription and non-prescription wearers.
