Cholesterol is built in the arteries of ours. It is not absolutely harmful, though it has the reputation of being deleterious to health. Some cholesterol may even prove to be quite beneficial for your health. It should be consumed in the proper amount. Cholesterol is usually found in fatty food or junk food. Pathologists can investigate your blood sample and find out levels of good and bad cholesterol in your blood. You have to adopt healthy living and food habits to ward off bad cholesterol and embrace the good ones. This is balance. A food item like butter can build cholesterol but butter is good in moderate quantity. Healthy butter in India is available in packs manufactured by some reputed companies. It can also be made at home in the purest form.

You should know about different categories of cholesterol. There is low-density lipoprotein (LDL) and high-density lipoprotein (HDL). HDL is considered good cholesterol because it is carried to the liver where it is filtered. LDL is regarded as bad because it goes directly into your arteries and forms the plaques that cause ...
... arterial blockages. They cause heart problems. The condition is known as atherosclerosis when plaques are made within the arteries.

Triglycerides form the third component of cholesterol. These are unused calories deposited as fat in the arteries. If you eat more and exercise less, you may run the risk of getting a triglyceride count high and getting a heart attack. More than a third of humanity suffers from LDL levels at dangerous counts. You should monitor your cholesterol and triglyceride from time to time. A level of LDL at 100 or less is considered healthy and the HDL count should be at least 40 or even more. The triglyceride count should be under 150. If you have a higher HDL count, it is good for you. It is not difficult to keep the counts under control. In case there is some aberration, one can have medication. You should have a healthy diet and eat lots of greens and fruits. You should also exercise regularly to keep fit and keep bad cholesterol and triglycerides low.

It is better if you count the calories that your food contains. You don't have to attend gyms for exercise. Plain freehand exercise or yoga or even walking is good for you. The more you eat, the more you should burn the calories.
