1.Click Start > All Programs > Outlook Express. The Outlook Express window appears.
2.Click File > Export > Address Book. The Address Book Export Tool dialog box appears. You can export the address book as either Microsoft Exchange Personal Address Book or Text File (Comma Separated Value).
3.Select one of the options and click the Export button. For example, if you select the Text File (Comma Separated Value) option then the CSV Export dialog box appears.
4.Click the Browse button to select the location where you want to save the file.
5.After selecting the location to save the address book in CSV that is comma separated value format, click the Next button.
6.Now, select the fields that you want to export. For example, you can select First Name, Middle Name, Last Name, Nick Name, Email Address, etc.
7.After selecting the required fields, click the Finish button. The Address Book will be saved at the selected location.
8.Click the OK button.
9.Click the Close button.
This is how you can export / backup the address book. This is the case when the .dbx file is working correctly and you are not having any working issue with Outlook Express.
