Locavores do not only promote the consumption of local produce and meant; they also want to see people hunt organic, locally grown sourced meat to provide for their families – a healthy way of eating clean meat harvested ethically, i.e., hunted according to ethical practices that will help support wildlife conservation – for future generations to also benefit from.

On the first level, the locavore promotes the meat from deer that enjoy a free-range existence in a specific region, but it goes further: hunters from further away are also encouraged to visit the region and leave with good quality meat, in addition to the antlers they hope to take home with them.
