Both artificial intelligence and climate change are the concepts that will affect our future. Though artificial intelligence research has received flak from some well-known inventors and scientists, it cannot be argued that the technology has the potential to solve many alarming problems of humans. It has always been said that multiple solutions will come from the same number of resources faster if we put better minds in place.threshold pointsAn efficient AI tech would have the computational and understanding prowess to understand the problem to its depth and figure out a way to solve it comprehensively. The latest report has emerged on the internet, suggesting that researchers are currently creating an AI tech that can detect and analyze threshold points of climate change. Furthermore, the technology would be sophisticated enough to issue a timely warning against the escalating climate change to prompt people to take action.A very well-organized research ...
... work in deep learning, data science, and AI has led to the evolution of a program that can aid humans in solving climate change. The research work has been credited to the University of Waterloo.Chris Bauch, a mathematics professor, has co-penned the research about the newest AI research. Bauch reported the findings, and the report hints that the research is closer to the tipping point after which unchangeable events occur in a system. The co-author also made a statement and said that they were happy with their work after they found that the deep learning program figured out the threshold points and estimated the system’s status beyond the threshold points. He further added that most of the threshold points that they figured out were harmful to the whole system and should be avoided at any cost. One of the threshold areas identified by the program was the glacier in the Arctic circle called “Arctic Permafrost.” The melting of “Arctic Permafrost” could release uncontrollable amounts of methane and cause more rampant heating. It was said in the paper that melting could naturally lead to abrupt alterations in the weather pattern and disintegrations in the ice sheet. And, further down the line, all of this will ultimately lead to quick changes in the sea level.According to Bauch and his peers, the extraordinary thing about this particular research work was that the algorithms did not put the impetus on a specific threshold area. Still, it was rather about the nature of threshold points in general. The crux of Bauch’s work revolved around fusing mathematical concepts of threshold points and the AI program. The researchers worked hard and made the program learn about 50,000 models that created the universe of threshold points. After that, the researchers gave the program some real-world scenarios, including the climate change situation from history. The direct application of such an AI program, as Timothy Lenton, the co-researchers in the project, is that it can give alarming signs regarding an approaching threshold point, should a system come near it. According to him, their purpose is to develop the climate change prediction program as far as possible. Even if people fail to reverse the situation, they can decrease their vulnerabilities about future events.ConclusionAs we know, AI, data science, machine learning, and deep learning all fall under one umbrella. According to recent reports, deep understanding is making more strides and is propelling the research industry forward. In the latest research work, Timothy Lanton and Chris Bauch have programmed an Artificial Intelligence and deep learning-based algorithm to help humans’ study specific tipping points and the system beyond the tipping issues.Source:https://ijstart.ijstartcan.us/artificial-intelligence-can-be-used-to-disclose-climate-change-threshold-points/
