Usually menstrual cramps are famous by the name of dysmenorrhea. It is related with the pain which occurs in the abdominal and pelvic region during the woman's menstrual period. The level of pain varies from woman to woman. In some woman the menstrual cramps are relatively mild but in some woman this problem is extremely severe.
Women suffering from mild menstrual cramp do not have to suffer more. In this condition the cramps occur only for few hours. It is barely noticeable. In this condition the main symptom is just a feeling of heaviness or bloating in the stomach area. Where as in severe menstrual cramps woman suffer from throbbing pain in the lower abdominal area, sometimes in lower back also. Due to this pain the daily activities of a woman get hampered. In severe cases the cramp may last for one or two days.
Some other symptoms which accompany menstrual cramps are vomiting, nausea, dizziness, loose stools, sweating etc.

1. You must make a habit of doing regular exercise. By doing regular exercises the painful menstrual cramps are reduced. Exercises increase the release of endorphins which is the natural method of the body to kill pain.
2. Painful menstrual cramps are also reduced by placing a bottle of hot water on your stomach. It is an effective and popular remedy to reduce the cramps.
3. Menstrual cramps can also be reduced by the use of peppermint or wintergreen especially when it is taken with tea. Make a habit of drinking this tea at least one or two cups a day. You can also suck on mint candy to reduce the cramps.
4. Doing yoga during the menstrual period also reduces the menstrual cramps. It provides much-needed burst of relaxation which also help to ease the other symptoms which are associated with menstrual cramps.
