Many students who are preparing for this type of exam may be worried about what is on the test or are worried that the test may be too difficult. Actually, the various Olympiad exam is not particularly difficult, and it is designed so that even students who are not very good at math can do well. Each of the four types of exams has its own set of criteria that will need to be met to be considered eligible to compete. The most basic exam consists of a written question and answer section, followed by a short calculation or an analysis of a problem. Students take part in the competitions in Math Olympiad events, either individually or as a team. The competitions are open to anyone who is at least a high school graduate. The competition does not require the student to be a college graduate to compete, although many teams choose teams that have a higher degree of mathematical ability.
