MPPSC or Madhya Pradesh Public State Service exam is one of the most difficult competitive exams in MP. The exam is conducted by the MP Public Service Commission for the recruitment of people in various government jobs consisted in the state administration.
The exam is held in 3 stages:

Prelims (MCQ Type)
Mains (Essay Type)
Personal Interview

In the year 2020, the council declared a total of 235 vacancies in the administration. Clearly, the competition is very high as the number of students appearing in the exam is in thousands and sometimes even lakhs.
The preparation for this exam is not easy as the syllabus is vast, and the aspirants are expected to give at least 8 to 12 months to cover the entire syllabus thoroughly and revise it enough for an intense preparation. However, a lot of students start very late and wish they could find a shorter strategy to crack the exam.
3-month study guide for MPPSC aspirants
If you are someone who could not start early due to some reasons and are now left with only a few months to prepare, don’t be disheartened. For it is ...
... not the time duration of studying that matters, but it matters how much of what you have studied can be recalled by you during the exam. Hence, even if you start late, but you study well with concentration and give a major part of your day to the preparation, there are chances you might get through.
Here is a 3-month study guide for MPPSC aspirants carefully devised by the expert tutors at one of the best MPPSC Coaching in Indore.
Step #1 — Collect all books and study material in one day
Now that you are already starting so late, you need to make sure that you don’t break your rhythm once you start. Therefore, it is essential that you have all the required books and study material by your side before you begin your preparation. It is suggested to study from physical books and printed documents for the data fetched from the internet as it increases your memorisation. However, if you are running on a low budget, you can use PDFs and online study material.
List of Books required for MPPSC Prelims Preparation
Since you are aiming for a summarised study material, you can avoid NCERT books as they consume a lot of time. Go for the compiled versions, which are more concise and useful. Here is a complete list of all the books that you need for the preparation of MPPSC Prelims:

Lucent
Wonders of India by A.L. Bhushan
Medieval History by Satish Chandra
Modern History by Vipin Chandra
Physical Geography by Goh-chi-leone
Indian Geography by Majid Hussain
NCERT Compilation by Mahesh Barnwal
Indian Polity by M. Lakshmikanth

Step #2 — Schedule subjects and topics, determine time duration for each
Once you have all the study material in place, the next thing to do is to go through your syllabus well. As you go through your syllabus, create a study plan scheduling each topic on a given day. Study the subjects you find the most difficult first, so that you don’t face anxiety and stress on the last few days before the exam.
If you must finish your syllabus in 3 months, you will have to dedicate at least 12 to 15 hours every day to your studies and cut down on all the distractions in your life. If you feel like you won’t be able to finish your syllabus within the given time limit, try to eliminate the topics which carry less weightage in the mark distribution of the paper. DO NOT focus on finishing the syllabus, instead focus on memorising well whatever you are studying. If you study a lot and don’t remember anything, it is of no use.
Tips for making a study schedule
When you create a schedule on such short notice, you won’t have any time to make changes or apply trial and error on this. Hence, it would be best if you prepared your schedule smartly. Here are some tips to help you with the same.

Don’t keep the schedule too tight. Keep some gap between topics so that you can extend a particular section, in case you are finding it difficult.
Leave slots for short breaks every 2 or 3 hours.
Schedule related topics together so that it is easier to follow and memorise information.
Avoid haphazard planning; follow a smooth sequence.
If you are planning to study different subjects on the same day, make sure you don’t keep two difficult subjects together to give your mind some relaxation.
Make sure your schedule is not too hard on you. It should only help you to manage and not exhaust you completely while you try to follow it.

If you are having difficulty in planning a proper schedule, join a crash course in one of the leading MPPSC coaching in Indore.
Step #3 — Start Preparing Immediately
Without wasting any time, start studying.
While studying, make sure you stick strictly to your syllabus and do not spend a single minute reading anything that is not a part of your syllabus.
Do not get distracted by the syllabus that is still remaining.
Do not get distracted by other study material.
Focus on what you have in your hands at the given moment and study with total concentration.
Don’t skip revisions. Spend 30 minutes every day to revise whatever you have studied.
Try to make very compact flowcharts and notes to help you with quick preparation.
General Study 1st paper Important Question
It will also help you if you spend at least 15 minutes every day in meditation, as it will help you to keep your anxiety low and nerves calm while you aim for cracking MPPSC Prelims.
Finally, always remember, nothing is impossible if you are determined to do it.
All the Best!
