How To Recover Hard Deleted Outlook Items
First, let me tell you the meaning of hard deleted Outlook items. These are the items that are permanently deleted from Outlook. Items (including emails, notes, contacts, etc.) that are deleted without moving into the "Deleted Items" folder are termed as hard deleted Outlook items. Permanently deleted items can be recovered only when Exchange Server is configured to keep the deleted items. If Exchange Server is not configured to store the deleted items then you cannot recover the lost emails, notes, contacts, journals, do to list, appointments, images, attachments, etc.
In case, you have deleted items permanently then you cannot recover them because by default the items can be recovered that are deleted from the "Deleted Items" folder. If you want to recover the items that are not deleted from the "Deleted Items" folder but are deleted directly from Inbox or sent items folder then you have to make changes in Windows registry. Modifying Windows registry can be risky if inappropriate changes are made. Therefore, it is suggested to follow the below given steps on your own risk for configuring the registry to recover hard ...
... deleted items from any folder:
1.Click Start > Run. The "Open" dialog box appears.
2.Type regedit in the text box and press the ENTER key. The "Registry Editor" window appears.
3.Locate, the following key in the registry:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Exchange\Client\Options
4.After locating the specified key, go through the "Edit" menu and click the "Add Value" button and then add the following registry values:
a.Name = DumpsterAlwaysOn
b.Data Type = DWORD
c.Data Value = 1
5.Exit the Registry Editor.
After making changes, start MS Outlook to recover the deleted items. After you have launched the Outlook, select the "Deleted Items Recovery" option in the Tools menu. A list of the items that were permanently deleted appears. This way the hard deleted items can be recovered for every folder in Outlook. The information provided in this article is applicable to MS Exchange Server 5.5, 2002, 2003, and 2007. The supported Outlook versions are 98, 97, 97 service pack 1, 2000, 2002 standard edition, and Outlook 2003.
As mentioned, modifying registry values can be risky. It can lead into unexpected results if appropriate modifications are not made. Therefore, if you do not want to take any kind of risk then try Outlook Recovery software for getting the hard deleted emails, notes, contacts, attachments, to do list, journals, etc. back in your hand. The Outlook Recovery software quickly recovers all of the email items even from the damaged .pst files.
