Gore Phantom Has The Answers For Wet Weather Roads

The Gore name has always stood for high quality outdoor outerwear, and the most popular of all of their lines has been the Gore Phantom line. Like the Gore Alp X line, this line is designed to handle the extreme climate changes that biking enthusiasts experience all over the world.

The winter and wet weather clothing in the Gore Phantom line have been around for years and road tested. Like the Gore Alp X line, this line features extreme climate clothing, including jerseys, tights, jackets and an entire catalog of all weather accessories. The common theme in this line is an aggressive cut, shaped especially for road riding. This means that pieces in this line, code named Xenon, are shorter in the front, longer in the back, and features tall front collar.

The racing jacket in the Gore Phantom line boasts a waterproof shell, also featured in the Gore Alp X line, but is more waterproof and windproof than its lighter cousin. The Gore Phantom Xenon bib tights features six panels of thermal material joined with flat locking seams, foot loops and a proprietary chamois that is also found in the Gore Alp X line. The chamois liner instantly wicks moisture away from the body and prevents chafing, no matter what the temperature or weather is doing to the body. Completing the outfit are Windstopper gloves, made of fleece lined with a gel padded palm and silicone finger grips.

The off road Gore Phantom jacket incorporates Windstopper front panels like the Gore Alp X jacket, but features a more roomier fit. Rear panels on this jacket do not use the Windstopper material so that they are more breathable than most off-road jackets, and the sleeves can be zipped off should the weather get warmer.

Another jacket created especially for this extreme weather line is called, fittingly, the Concept jacket. This is a full out Gore-Tex created jacket, fitted with a uniquely adjustable and lightweight insulation system. Code named Airvantage, the insulation system allows the wearer to determine the level of warmth they need. The inflatable panels located within the front and back sections of the jacket can be inflated or deflated at will. The panels block the air from moving through the jacket, and can be inflated a little or a lot, depending on how warm you want to be.

The Concept jacket also features a foldaway tail to guard against splashing, and a zip off hood. All of the jackets and other all weather clothing in this line feature generous portions of 360 degree reflective materials, raising visibility to a whole new level of safety. With the proprietary science contained within the Concept jacket, its use might bring even more popularity to all weather wear.
