Essential oils are scented or flavoured compounds extracted from plants. Each plant has its aroma present inside the stems, leaves, flowers and roots, which gives essential oil its essence and is extracted with very common methods like distillation(with water/steam) or some other mechanical methods. Essential oils are prominently used for aromatherapy, as natural aromatic compounds in organic products. So, this article is composed of the types of essential oils, their uses and benefits and how the oil is being extracted and from where the compound is being extracted.

TYPES OF ESSENTIAL OILS
As essential oils are just aromatic compounds extracted from a plant or tree, so there are about 90 types of essential oils available in the market, each having its flavour and aroma and used for different purposes. Eg;
Lavender:- Biologically known as Lavandula angustifolia have a lot of benefits like it can be used to relieve stress, pain relief, natural scent, etc.
Peppermint Essential oils:- Mentha piperita smells so good that it is loved by most people and also it has a lot to do with aromatherapy, like Peppermint ...
... essential oil is good for one digestive system, reduces the feeling of anxiety and stress, kills germs in the mouth, alleviates headache, etc;
Lemon Essential oil:- Citrus Limonum as the name only suggests it is made up of lemons, and a little bottle of 15ml Lemon essential oil requires about 50-55 lemons. It can be used as a disinfectant, to lift one's mood, to cure the digestive system, can reduce pain in arthritis, etc. This oil is so concentrated that it cant be used directly, it needs to be mixed with some carrier oil to be used.
Eucalyptus Essential oil:- Eucalyptus Radiata also known as medicinal scent, its sharp and clean aroma gives a hard tone of mint and hints of having pine and camphor in the scent. It has the potential to kill germs, disinfect, can give relief from muscle pain, boost the immune system, etc more medicinal benefits.
Frankincense Essential oil:- Boswellia carterii is extracted from ancient times out of the resins of hardy trees and gives a very spicy tone of woods. Also has a lot of benefits like reducing stress, swelling, pain, balancing hormones, improves mental clarity and memory, etc. All these make this Ancient essential oil cost more.
Tea Tree Essential oil:- This essential oil in India has again a very hardodourr and is also known as Melaleuca alternifolia. Tea Tree oil is useful for reducing dandruff, fungal infections, healing acne, etc.

HOW ESSENTIAL OILS ARE EXTRACTED
Azeotropic Distillation(hydrodistillation, hydro diffusion, and steam distillation) and extraction with chemicals are the two most prominent methods to extract essential oils in India. Essential oil manufacturers use different techniques of extraction for different oils such as lavender, peppermint, tea tree oil etc are distilled whereas there are some flowers having very little volatile oil which can be lost by distillation so these are extraction by with chemical solvents.

BENEFITS OF USING ESSENTIAL OILS

Each essential oil has its own medicinal benefit, also used as natural scents for cosmetics and other organic products.
Essential Oils India are used in Aromatherapy, and this therapy helps a person to get rid anxiety disordres, reduces stress, balance sleep cycles,used as disinfectant, pain relieving massage oils, etc are most common uses of essential oils.

HOW TO USE ESSENTIAL OILS

Most of the essential oils are extracted and hence concentrated so it needs some carrier oil in order to use, for massaging you can use coconut oil, to use in a diffuser put 2-3 drops and enjoy the aroma, one can directly inhale essential oil but you must need to take care that you are not allergic to that flavour.
