Lotus Notes is one of the best email clients used in small as well as large organizations. Emails, notes, contacts, etc. that you create using Lotus Notes are stored in .nsf file. Sometimes, it happens that you try to logon to your Lotus Notes account but cannot logon. While trying to logon into your account, you get following error message:
You are not authorized to perform that operation
Or
You are not authorized to access that database
Cause
After receiving any of the aforementioned error messages, you may think that there is some problem with your login ID and password. Therefore, you provide login ID and password again and again but nothing works. This is because the problem is not with your login ID and password. You are getting the specified error message because of insufficient permissions to access the .nsf file. The administrator often applies security on .nsf file using Access Control List so that unauthorized users cannot access the file. Due to applied security on the .nsf file, the You are not authorized to perform that operation or You are not authorized to access that database ...
... error message appears on your computer screen.
Solution
The only solution to resolve the specified error message is to contact the administrator and ask him to assign you the access rights to the .nsf file. In case, the administrator is not available but the accessing the file is too urgent then you can use the NSF local security removal software. The NSF local security removal software perfectly deals with the error messages like You are not authorized to perform that operation, You are not authorized to access that database, etc.
The software quickly removes the restrictions applied on the file and allows you to work with the file. Once your purpose to access the .nsf file is completed, you can reapply the removed local security on the .nsf file. Kernel for NSF Local Security Removal is an efficient tool, which allows you to remove local security from unlimited NSF files. While removing restrictions from the NSF file, Kernel for NSF Local Security Removal software keeps the structure of the NSF file intact. Moreover, the software supports all versions of Lotus Notes. The software can be installed on Windows Vista, Windows XP, Windows 2003, Windows 2000, or Windows 98.
