Whereas QuickBooks Online has a monthly subscription price starting with Start:$25, Essentials: $40, Plus: $70, and Advanced: $150.It has a free trial for 30-days with no initial fee for trying it.
Features:
QuickBooks Desktop and Online have many of the same features, QuickBooks Desktop mainly features used for Billing and accounts payable, Invoice making, and tracking of income and expenses.QuickBooks Desktop version has some features that are not available in the online version. This includes the ability to prepare 1099s, budget, and track mileage and expenses. Mostly, the desktop version allows more freedom to customize forms than QuickBooks Online. QuickBooks Online's main features are used for Accounting, Banking, and Expense records.
User Access:
QuickBooks Desktop allows up to 3 to 30 users based on the version. As Pro version allows a maximum of up to 3 users only. The Premier version allows up to 4 users, and the Enterprise version allows up to 30 users. On the other hand, QuickBooks Online allows up to 25 users depending on the price plan and you can also have an unlimited number of time-tracking users only. Customer Support:
The QuickBooks Desktop version doesn’t provide any support although we can pay for support for the Pro Plus edition only.It only provides video tutorials, on-demand webinars, and one-one chat messages. Whereas QuickBooks Online comes with free support which provides in-product help, phone call, and product training.
Security:
QuickBooks Desktop has been manually installed therefore this program is more secure and its security features are very good. Whereas QuickBooks Online is a close-based program, therefore, its security process runs through Intuit.
