Body language or non-verbal communication, is something that we all use and understand subconsciously as a result of both cultural customs and genetic coding. When it comes to our careers, body language during an interview or interview practice is quite important.

It is important for us to understand that as others can interpret our emotions through our body language, we are alsocapable of training ourselves to feel a certain way about ourselves using the same.

In an interview, your body will be communicating with your interviewer and influencing how you feel about yourself at the time. In a job interview, it's critical that your body language conveys that you're a confident, positive, and capable candidate.

Here are some incredible ways you can improve your body language to succeed in your next interview.

1. Make eye contact
Eye contact during an interview is important as it shows the interviewer you are confident and ready to go. It also shows one more key thing: you are listening and engaged in the conversation. When you look someone in the eye, you appear more attentive and trustworthy, ...
... whereas averting makes you appear jittery or uncomfortable.
Remember when there are multiple interviewers in the room and a question is being asked start out by looking at the person who posed it. Later on make brief eye contact with everyone while returning your gaze to the original asker as you finish answering the question.

2. Sit properly
If the hiring manager notices you slumping, they may conclude that you are scared, and leaning back may give out the impression that you ae not engaged in the conversation.
Avoid sitting too stiffly during the interview or practice for interview. You have probably already heard you shouldn't cross your arms as it might make you seem defensive or guarded. Make sure you keep your arms open.

3. Use appropriate hand gestures as and when required
Remember to not go over your shoulders while using hand gestures. They are a perfect way which can help you in giving emphasis on what you are talking about.

4. Make sure you are not fidgeting
If you're a nail-biter, knuckle-cracker, hair-twirler, or leg-tapper, don't let your habits show during the interview. All of this will come across as unprofessional and nerve-wracking. Furthermore, the majority of these behaviours are considered as impolite.

5. Plant your feet on the ground
It is advised to keep your feet on the ground. Experts say that its not impossible but, rather a bit difficult to answer complex questions unless both of your feet are on the ground. It helps one to go between both creative and highly complex rational thought process. Also, make it a point to keep your legs at an appropriate distance.

6. Smile
Using negative facial expressions sends a signal to your brain that you are doing a difficult task. This tends to send the stress hormone – cortisol -- into your blood stream raising your stress levels. Also, when you smile
