Two-Faced Rudraksha resembles Ardhanarishwar or a combination of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. There is a story that suggests how Lord Shiva united with Goddess Parvati. A saint called Bhrigu Muni was attracted towards Goddess Parvati when he saw her alone without Lord Shiva. She cursed him with loss of body attraction and flesh. He was unable to stand properly on his skeleton legs. When Lord Shiva learned about this, out of pity he helped Bhrigu Muni with an extra leg to stand on. Goddess Parvati became very angry about this. She went to the forests and meditated for a very long time. This pleased Lord Shiva and he united with Goddess Parvati limb to limb and both of them conjoined half and a half to become Ardhanarishwar (Half Female). This made a statement that there is No Shiva without Shakti and No Shakti without Shiva.
