Uk Number Plates - Which Styles Are Legal?

Hi, it's matt here from going green autos so I've been asked a couple of times about how you make number plates so I need to make a setup so I thought I would show you on this video some people might find it useful.
We are talking number plates as I have just finished wrapping my gi Yaris and like many new car owners. I wanted to get rid of the diva plates and uh have something a little bit more fancy so thank you to cuk as they have sent me pretty much every style they do so uh between you at home and me. We can decide which ones are best for Yaris so in terms of our choices we have the rather normal number plate on top we then also have the gel plate which is got a little bit more spice but it's not quite that obvious and then lastly we have the more modern 4d plates where the letters are made out of acrylic.
Now which ones are legal actually all of them conform to the later standard which is 145d including the 4d provided you don't have the clear backing or anything the letters have to be pure black which means any of these styles are legal and as we've touched on legality a time of filming is a little bit of ...
... a confusing time for number plates.
So at the moment, we have two standards running in parallel which are 145d and 145e these plates from cuk conform to the older style which is 145d but provided they're printed before September 2022.
These should remain legal the new 145e plates I believe have some kind of different backing which is more reflective and that kind of stuff as the technology in these is uh over 20 years old now in terms of choosing which one is going to go on my car.
I actually put a little bit of a poll on Instagram and surprisingly there were quite a few votes for just plain standard people seemed to like these surprisingly the 4d actually didn't get as many votes as I thought it would this is like the most recent style out of the three here but overwhelmingly I think everyone wanted the
